Below you could see the samples of client and server
applications using Winsock and TCP/IP.
How they work?
1.You start the server application on some computer on the LAN or on Internet
connected PC;
2.You start the client application on your PC and enter the name of remote
computer with server
started into the edit field;
3.Pressing "Connect" button will lead to "Connect OK"
message box appearance. It means that
you enter correct computer's name or its IP address ( you can use
WinIPCFG.exe program
from Windows' directory to detect your IP address);
4.Pressing "Send Data To Server" will lead to "Congratulation
from client" string appearance on server's
panel. It means that client-server connection works properly.
Remarks:
a) These samples must work properly not on remote PCs only, but on local PC
too. You need
to have TCP/IP protocol installed only;
b) Both programs ( client and server ) can detect the connection termination
from other side of the line;
c) Communication port number - 2049.
